Opportunity and encouragement

Two quotes that caught my eye today:

The first is from Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor:

"When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us."

The second is from the great German writer, Johann Wolfgann von Goethe:

"Correction does much, but encouragement does more."
